In early this year, NACCA made a call out for nominations for various award categories.  Through the support of many clients, previous and existing board members, IICF submitted their nomination to be considered in the Indigenous Financial Institution Innovation Award.  This award category acknowledges improvements in products, services, methods, or approaches that are either brand new or have undergone significant enhancements.

The award focuses on innovative activities in these key areas:

  1. New ideas or innovations

  2. Financial products or support services for businesses

  3. IFI processes or approaches

  4. Collaboration among IFIs

Over the past four years, IICF has developed two new financial products to better support entrepreneurs and business development initiatives.

The first product introduced was the Business Plan Workbook. Since its initial release, a second, enhanced edition has been completed to further improve clarity and usability for clients.

Additionally, IICF finalized its first fully Fillable PDF Loan Application. This streamlined and user-friendly application is designed to capture key information, including entrepreneur contact details, financial disclosures, and comprehensive business venture information.

Both products were intentionally designed to help applicants take a meaningful step forward in their entrepreneurial journey.

IICF is pleased to announce that the nomination submission was successful. Early May, 2026, at the annual NACCA Indigenous Prosperity Forum, IICF received their IFI Innovation Award, recognizing how innovation supports economic growth.
